Blaenffos village is located just on the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Coastal Park. There are many visitor attractions within easy reach including a wide variety of beautiful beaches from the flat unspoilt sandy type to small rocky coves. It is one of the best areas to see Buzzards and Red Kites in their natural habitat as well as badgers, foxes and otters. The Cardigan bay area of coastline is famous for the grey seals, dolphins, porpoises and sometimes small whales. The coastal path runs the full length of the county some 85 miles in total. The area is ideal for walking, hiking, cycling, bird-watching, fishing, horse riding, canoeing, surfing, off-road driving, golf and all types of outdoor pursuits. There are a variety of boat trips to the off-shore islands of Ramsey, Skomer, Stockholm and Caldey to see the wildlife and bird sanctuaries.

In the immediate area around Pond House Cottages there is the village shop in Blaenffos some 150 yards from the entrance to the private drive. They sell essential food and household supplies, including papers and an off-licence.
Boncath (Welsh for Buzzard) village has a post office/shop and a Pub around 1.5 miles from away.
Crymych – 2 miles South on the A478 has a good range of basic shops, a doctors, pharmacy, small supermarket, garage, leisure centre, swimming pool, post office, fish & chip shop and a Chinese take-away.
The market town of Cardigan - 6 miles north on A478 has a large selection of local and national shops including, Boots, WH Smiths, Woolworths, Peacocks, Tescos, Somerfield, Aldi etc. There is an indoor market open every day, a good selection of cafes, Welsh, Indian and Chinese restaurants and take-away. There is a theatre and 2 screen cinema, heritage centre and the Teifi river marsh nature reserve.
For photographers wishing to meet like minded people, the Cardigan & District Photographic Society meet twice a month on a Monday evening.
